Sweet Olive Soap Works of New Orleans

So call me biased, but I LOVE this Sweet Olive Soap made right here in New Orleans. (Sah-weet.)

Sweet Olive makes as many types of soap as there are personalities in this fine city.

My personal favorites are the Creole Tomato and the Ms. Antoinette K-Doe's (rest her sweet soul in peace) Red Beans and Rice Soap. Both leave this gal's skin glowing and toned. They really take that summer shine away.

Well... ok... OK... ok...

As much as you can keep summer shine away during August in New Orleans.

I'm looking forward to trying the Zulu Coconut Soap when the winter hits.
Sounds moisturizing.

Carnival Timers will love the Carnival Time Soap with Yuzu and Lime - VERY energizing after a looooong night out.

There's even an All Natural Absinthe Soap for you Green Fairies. Here's what they say about it:

"Absinthe Soap will not throw you into madness or

make an artistic genius of you,
but the sharp blend of Anise, Peppermint, and Lemon Balm
essential oils could
wake you up
enough to do something inspiring with your life."

::SIGH::

I guess you just can't have it all sometimes, right?

Let's Get This Party Started...

Welcome to All Things Olive...

...All Things I Love.

Mostly about New Orleans, but you never know - something new may catch my eye.

(Oooh, Shiny!)

I'd like to start off with a toast.

Let's all raise a glass at Iris in the French Quarter! If you haven't been to their bar and restaurant in the Bienville House Hotel on N. Peters you are missing out.

The drinks are delicious.

And don't even get me started on the master mixologist, artist extraordinaire and country song composer Alan Walter.

Two words: Yum-My!

You know, they say cocktails were invented here in New Orleans. (And I believe 'em.) They say they came from a pharmacy in the French Quarter. (Yeah, you right!)

The bar setup is very much pharmacy meets farmer's market. Who can't appreciate good pharmaceuticals and fresh Louisiana produce?

::crickets chirping::

That's what I thought.

So raise your glasses, people!
This is my favorite toast taught to me by
Bourbon Street Burlesque Legend
Wild Cherry:

Here's to you and here's to me,
May we never disagree.

But if we do,
The hell with you,
Here's to me!
